absenteeism
you may or may not have noticed...

I have not touched my LJ in a few months.

There are several reasons for this, among which...

  • oldest man on the internet

  • twitter posts taking over the usually relevant information I used to find here

  • people who when I threw up the white flag could never let anything go

  • the fact that I was predictable enough that me and a dear friend actually had a fight over LJ


    • I decided I'd take a break, and I feel it was valid.

    If you think I missed anything, or want to hear any of my stories... ask here. I will be glad to fill you in, and would love to hear how you've been doing.

    I will be doing a little differently in this space than I have prior, and if I fail at it, perhaps starting up a different space... come to think of it, that sounds more likely, especially with the inception (might not even be the right word) of some russian dating site owning the LJ.     in the past few months, the internet just keeps letting me down, (for instance, see http://www.google.com/search?q=gun+arm+site:wikipedia.org) ... so I have limited all of my interaction with it to storage (I have google docs) and schedule maintenance (see my Myspace, Facebook and G-cal)

    hell, I am not even usually on AIM anymore.


    ice-penguin: I have money for you, and think you should drop the data (but not text) from my plan. warn me first so I don't accidentally make a big bill

    I make decisions that me from 6 months ago wouldn't. I am much more content, though.

    I grow really tired of fiction lately... as excited as I am to see modern first-run Star Trek, as well as Wolverine and Terminator... it saddens me that the last real original compelling sci-fi was Firefly. Not that firefly is the problem, it's the infrequency. Heroes, for instance, is getting outright BORING.

    eh... probably more literary and media criticism here, as well as what events I plan on attending. record of my life and recent events most likely found at the site above... but in case you need to link to it again...

    Of course it's pointless. And repetitive. And he's only in Ithaca about 1/4 to 1/3 of the time.

    sorry we missed each other last night. doesn't necessarily need to be intimate. like i said, just haven't seen you in awhile and would like to hang out. moving dr. who could also probably work, in case you aren't back sunday. though, i don't have cable, so maybe not so much ;) is it on PBS?

    Get Netflix and watch "Last Exile". More steampunk than sci-fi, but full of awesome.
