It's either too think, or too runny.

They need to perfect the cheesyfulness.

Cost, preference, freedom, and personal space.

Most people do not want to live with the type of housing and food that their community might be able to provide for free, much less have to share it with many other people. Even were we to go back to the poorhouses, which could fund themselves via forced labor, conditions are often unpleasant enough for residents to great effort to move.

As I'm thinking about this, I'm starting to wonder if personal space, which always seemed like an optional luxury to me, is actually a sensible safety guideline. Shared bunking space comes with risks of theft, sometimes followed by risks of violence. (For instance, if my wedding ring was removed, I might respond somewhat intemperately.)

Of course, I think choosing to live in groups of friends, family, ect is another thing altogether. Self chosen communities of most shapes and sizes tend to do well without government poking at them.

Free food does not carry nearly as many problems, which is one of the reason's it's so common.

Yeah.

We pretty much have free food currently. At least heavily (over around 50-75%) subsidized food for all and then all sorts of completely free food programs are all available.

There is also free housing available and a lot of subsidized housing.

We do a lot better on these two fronts then we do on health care.

hehe, i was about to make these same points. we do have free shelter and free food. half of my roommates have been on food stamps ;) it's alot easier to get them than you might think, especially if you have a kid or a disability. but in my limited experience, the people who get food stamps and other aid also already qualify for medicare. it's just a ridiculous process to get anything set up here. i have heard even if you make an appointment going to DSS you are standing in line for hours. Wasn't like that in NC, i pretty much popped in and out to set up child support.

I think there is more of a bureaucracy problem here than I have seen other places.

also, even if you can't get it through the government, there are alot of charities out there. i'm sure you've heard of homeless shelters, food banks, and soup kitchens.

More importantly, why isn't the government providing for my sexual needs?

I demand a real woman. What kind of cruel, heartless, sick society would claim that sexual intercourse with a robot is a reasonable substitute for the real thing.

7 and change isnt enough to live on, it should be at least 15 an hour, and a govt stipend for a hybrid car, and a 30 hour work week....

I am not interested in what the government wants to give me in order to preserve their own power. I am an adult, and can provide for my needs without their handouts. Handouts which are, I might point out, paid for with taxes seized from others under threat of force.

Public Shelter? Didn't we just shell out over a trillion dollars to support people who can't pay their mortgages, banks who gave out mortgages that couldn't be repaid, and to fund the refinancing of the unpayable mortgages into unpayable mortgages with lower intere3st rates?

Because wouldn't that be Communism?

Because we are conditioned to try to get the most by doing the least. There are certain people who, if their basic needs were met, would do NOTHING with their lives. Except complain.

Because America was founded on the principles of Capitalism, Individualism, and Superiority. Giving everyone the same health care, housing and food kind of flies in the face of the founding father's ideals.

Because the system would be corrupt.

Because the population would explode.
