smiling at people on the streets is a flawless example of how I view this idea.

You have infinite choices walking down the street. You could choose to kill yourself as soon as you step down off of your stoop in the morning. ..to make the walk with as little interference as possible. ..to take the scenic route.

or my personal favorite... Dance and Sing and Say hello to strangers until something amazing happens. If nothing does, count your blessings when you make it to work unhindered.

Concentration Camps, eh? This poses some interesting ideas.

From which angles? Soldier? General? Slave? President of the USA? Random person on the other side of the world?

the generic Judeo-Xtian point of view is that we need to stick our nose as far up in everyone's business as possible.. in the case of concentration camps, there is some merit.

if you are a person in the concentration camps (see La Vita Bella) then survival is a hope, and making yours and the lives around you better seems almost impossible. but try try and you might make it out alive

if you are a soldier, turning is not the brightest choice. building up your position... running away to tell other countries... these are all good choices.

The US has had concentration camps too. Germany just happened to be a force we lowered our guns on before the US started attacking indigenous and/or brown people again.

That's not to say what Germany did wasn't horrible and aweful.

Just some extrapolations from me just after I woke up.

oh, and the world ending means that we have to act as true to our own nature as possible, or else as altruistically as possible. I don't really care which.

Concentration camps from all points of view. Even just the concept of surviving in one. Or of dying in one.
